We endeavour to ensure our residents are maintaining their physical and mental strength in a happy environment at Fairways. Our activities team headed up by our Activities Co-Ordinator, provide stimulating and, most of all, fun activities, events and entertainment every day.
We encourage our residents to regularly get involved in our activity programme; Activities are so important as they are beneficial for several reasons including socialising, reminiscing and encouraging communication as well as helping with diminishing skills and promoting regular exercise. For our residents with Dementia, we have a reminiscence corner and rummage boxes. Those with Dementia like to keep their hands busy so we provide tactile items to help them feel connected with the sense of touch.
Activities and Entertainment at Fairways include:
- Singers, Music & Shows
- Arts & Crafts
- Baking & Cookery
- Armchair Exercises
- Pamper Afternoons
- Letters & Storywriting
- Flower Arranging
And many many more!
We also offer a monthly Sunday Service led by David Pickett. David has a degree in Theology, Music & Worship and a diploma in Christian Ministry. Once a month he holds an all-inclusive service for our residents to engage in hymns, communion, Bible reading and prayer.
